The UK has a proud history of the struggle against racism that was forged
in the heart of Britain’s many black and minority communities and shaped
by mass campaigns, action, new and vibrant analysis and theory. Over
the years it has been weakened, some argue defeated, by a combination
of state responses, the so called success of the BME middle class and
disintegration of the left in Society. Is this an accurate summary of
events?
