A Barrow woman has been arrested after a man was stabbed in what police said could have been a racially motivated attack.

Officers were called to a house on Westway, Barrow, at 1835 BST on Thursday after reports that a 38-year-old man had been stabbed in the neck.

The man was treated at the scene by paramedics but police have said his injuries are not life-threatening.

A 23-year-old woman has been arrested and remains in police custody.
