FAITH leaders from around the region were due to meet today to call for restraint ahead of a planned demonstration by the English Defence League (EDL).
The group, representing different religions, will be at Stoke Minster, with organisers saying they hope it will send out a message the protest is not wanted in the city. They are also calling for restraint from any counter-demonstration. Among those due to attend are representatives of the Christian, Jewish, Sikh and Muslim faiths.
