A city-wide manhunt has been launched in Peterborough for a knifeman who stabbed two Afghan teenagers in a savage late-night attack.

The youngsters – aged 19 and 15 – were left bleeding from serious wounds following the attack, near The Sportsman pub, in Eastfield Road, Peterborough, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police say the pair became involved in an altercation with a man, who was in the area with another man and a woman, at around midnight.

A fight ensued between the man and the two victims, during which the man stabbed both youths.

The 19-year-old received a wound to his chest, while the 15-year-old suffered a stab wound to his chest and a slash to his arm.

Despite bleeding heavily, the two victims managed to flee the scene to an address in nearby Burghley Road, where they knew another member of the Afghan community lived.
