A senior officer has been sacked from Boris Johnson’s economic body the London Development Agency (LDA), after allegedly using a racist term in a conversation with colleagues.
Sources close to the LDA said that its chief executive, Sir Peter Rogers, sacked the interim director of contracts, Nick Hoare, after three members of staff complained that he had used a phrase that included the word “nigger”. Rogers challenged Hoare after being shown the three staff statements about him. Hoare was sacked yesterday morning. A spokesman for the LDA declined to comment on details involving individual members of staff.
