Celebrity chef Lorraine Pascale has called in police after being hounded for months by a “vile racist” on Twitter.

The former model , who has starred in BBC2’s Baking Made Easy and Lorraine’s Last Minute Christmas Home Cooking Made Easy, said she had come under attack from an American account @spiderleman – one of a number of aliases used by her tormentor.

Mother-of-one Ms Pascale decided to speak up about the insults after the social networking did nothing to stop him from reopening accounts every time they shut one down.

Writing on her own account she told her 51,000 followers: “How is it that someone in the US is free to send me vile racist Tweets on a daily basis yet twitter does nothing to stop him?
