Met Pcs deny racial abuse claims

Six Met Police officers have gone on trial over claims of racial abuse and assault involving London teenagers.

Pc Mark Jones, 41, denies racially aggravated common assault against Omar Mohidin and Basil Khan in June 2007. Pc Neil Brown, 32, denies racially aggravated threatening behaviour towards a third man, Ahmed Hegazy. Four other officers deny helping them cover up the alleged incidents. They were charged after another Pc reported concerns, Kingston Crown Court heard.

Rosa Dean, prosecuting, told the jury that the incident happened after the officers, all members of the Territorial Support Group, stopped a group of teenagers near Edgware Road, in central London, on suspicion of abusive behaviour.
