A Nottinghamshire police officer has been fined 13 days’ pay for making racist, sexist and homophobic remarks, the police watchdog has confirmed.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) held a three-day hearing into the allegations last week.
It said the comments were made on police premises between November 2004 and June 2005 and had come to light during a recent police operation.
The officer, who has 28 years of service, has not been named.
The IPCC said the remarks were made to other police staff and members of the public.
On Tuesday, IPCC Commissioner Len Jackson said: “The behaviour of this officer in making offensive sexist and racist remarks about colleagues and others was completely unacceptable.
