Officers may face charges over ‘waterboarding’ claim

POLICE officers at the centre of “waterboarding” claims could face criminal charges after an independent investigation.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has passed a file to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) after it investigated the conduct of six officers alleged to have mishandled drugs suspects. The officers from Enfield Crime Squad, based at Edmonton police station, allegedly submerged the heads of up to three men in a bucket of water during a raid on November 4 last year.
