Police have released CCTV images of a race attack in Islington.
Police are treating the attack, which happened on Saturday February 6, as a racially aggravated assault. The stabbing followed a row between the motorist, who had two young children in car seats in the back of his car, and a 29-year-old man from Kilburn, at the junction with Benwell Road, Holloway, at lunchtime. Police say they think the driver lost his temper, shouted racial abuse at the victim and the exchange ended with both men spitting at each other. Minutes later, the victim was approached and struck from behind, only later realising he’d been stabbed in the face. The suspect being sought by police is described as stocky, about 5ft 6in tall, in his late 20s with short dark/brown hair, and was wearing blue jeans and a blue or dark coloured bomber type jacket. He spoke with a northern accent.
