A Senior Derbyshire police officer has been suspended from duty after he was summonsed to court to face a charge of racially-aggravated harassment.
Chief Inspector Gary Tomlinson is also facing a charge of using threatening words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. When approached by the Derby Telegraph at his home in Hartshorne, Chf Insp Tomlinson refused to comment. A spokeswoman for Derbyshire police said: “We can confirm that a Derbyshire police officer has been reported for summons for public order offences. “He has been suspended from duty and is due to appear at Chesterfield Magistrates Court.”
