A CITY takeaway has been pelted with stones and eggs in a series of apparent racist attacks.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the spate of incidents, which have been taking place over the past 12 months. Two of the most recent attacks on the Roopnagor Indian Takeaway, Wolseley Road happened on September 13 and 15 at around 10pm when large stones were hurled at the takeaway windows as customers waited inside to collect their food. Several hundreds of pounds worth of damage is believed to have been caused. “The owner of the premises and his family has suffered from a number of racist incidents in recent months,” said Sergeant Bev Havis, neighbourhood team leader for Stoke and Ford.
